Now then! My name is Daniel McLoughlin, and I’m a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in Azure, and a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT). I work as a Microsoft Partner Technology Strategist in the UK and Ireland.

As a Microsoft Partner Technology Strategist at Version 1, I work for the CTO and play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the technology strategy. I serve as an evangelist for Microsoft Azure, taking ownership of the technology roadmap and driving innovation across the company. My primary responsibilities include supporting strategic bids, identifying trends and capabilities, raising our company profile, driving engagement, and influencing and orchestrating activity across the organisation. I am passionate about leveraging Microsoft Azure's capabilities to drive our company's success and deliver value to our customers.

I first started working with Azure whilst working as a Product Developer, and have since progressed through roles such as Senior Cloud Developer, Technical Product Manager and Senior Consultant. My specific interests are in Azure PaaS technologies, DevOps and AI, but I'm a technologist at heart and always keep an open mind, getting hands on wherever possible.

In April 2023 I was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for Azure, recognising my passion through community contributions such as open-source projects, public speaking, mentoring and blogging. I also run the Version 1 Azure Community Hub and work to drive engagement and collaboration across the entire business.

A little bit about myself: I’m based out of Ripon, a small city in North Yorkshire, UK. Outside of work, I’ve usually got my hands full with my two sons! I try to get involved with charity initiatives where possible, and enjoy running and resistance training.
